CRESTED BUTTE WILDFLOWER WORKSHOP

Join us July 7 and 8, 2012, for a photography workshop in Colorado's Wildflower Capital, Crested Butte!  This will be an intense 2 days of shooting wildflowers, wildlife and landscapes in a high alpine environment.  We'll be there just prior to the official Crested Butte Wildflower Festival and be able to access the sites before they get trampled by the festival goers.  $400 per person, does not include food or lodging.  You need to book this one early because all the lodging fills up for the festival.  Cindy Maynard, Volunteer Naturalist with Boulder County Open Space will be along for wildflower identification and natural history interpretation.  I'll provide Photoshop instruction for processing your images during the mid-day breaks.  I HAVE SOME ROOMS RESERVED AT THE OLD TOWN INN!

In addition to the shooting sessions we'll be working on multi focal point shooting and processing with Helicon Focus software to create images that never have a depth of field problem! ALSO... I've received permission to take the group into Mexican Cut.  The is a Nature Conservancy preserve above Gothic that is normally closed to the public.  I've seen magenta and yellow Indian Paint Brush up there.  The trail tops out at treeline, 10,500' above sea level.  Afterwards, we'll get a private tour of the Rocky Mountain Biological laboratory in Gothic.  This is a world unto itself.  It's the oldest continuously operating high altitude research facility in the country.

What we'll cover:

How to deal with lighting issues in open-field photography

Multi-point shooting and image processing to produce infinite depth of field

How to enhance your subject in the field
