18th September 2022: Arrival Day

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where we will be waiting to meet you once you have cleared customs and transfer to your accommodation, where you will enjoy a wonderful dinner and a superb night’s rest and relaxation. This is your chance to really soak up the atmosphere and recharge the batteries for what lies ahead for your Migration Safari to Mara River.

19th September 2022: A visit to Lake Manyara National Park – Drive to Ngorongoro Highland

After early breakfast at the lodge, pack and leave enjoy the drive through Arusha City to Lake Manyara National Park. You have the option to visit the culturally-diverse village of Mto wa Mbu set on the banks of the river of the same name, for a first-hand look at tribal life in the African bush. You then check into Lake Manyara National Park where a picnic lunch is served at the Msasa picnic site, offering a fabulous view of the lake. You will have an afternoon wildlife viewing in the park, with its diverse flora and fauna, including some 350 bird species.

The Park Preserve a variety of animals like the gazelle, impala, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, baboon, giraffe, hippo, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Late afternoon we head off to the Ngorongoro highlands.

20th September 2022 – Exploring Ngorongoro Crater

Set up for an early start by having early breakfast at the lodge before descending into the crater for a full day in-depth exploration of this distinctive eco-system. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of the conservation area. These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view black rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. Another big draw card to this picturesque Caldera, is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, and if Lucky enough you will have chance to see the small cats like the Rare Caracal, Serval cat as well as the African wild cat which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Picnic breakfast will be served at one of the picnic sites at the crater floor, followed by another game viewing visiting the hippo pool near the Mandusi Swamp, Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner which is one of the main features of the crater, the lerai forest as well as other parts of the crater.

21st September 2022: Exploring the Ngorongoro Crater – Drive to central Serengeti

After a leisure breakfast at the Camp, you will descend into the crater for another in-depth exploration of this distinctive eco-system. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of the conservation area. These drives provide one of the best opportunities in Africa to view black rhino, which tend to spend their time on the crater floor. Driving through the Gol kopjes is always a breathtaking experience with a vision of vast open plains and amazing wildlife, like gazelles and cheetahs. Late in the afternoon, we drive to your base for the next two nights.

22nd September 2022: Exploring the Central and Eastern Serengeti Plains and Kopjes

After breakfast, a full day wildlife-viewing awaits on our way to Exploring the vast Serengeti and its endless plains. You can choose to break the day into two, by doing early morning and late afternoon drive through the central Serengeti. The golden light of dawn invites amazing photographic opportunities, departing at first light with a picnic breakfast, in search of migration heard across the Central Serengeti. Areas that will be visited are the Retima Hippo pool, Maasai and Sametu kopjes, and plains as well as Moru and Simba kopjes. The Central Serengeti and Seronera river valley are home to a great diversity of wildlife due to its unique ecological niches as a transition zone where two distinctly different habitats, the plain and the woodlands merge and various species of wildlife from both habitats can coexist.

23rd, 24th and 25th September 2022: exploring the northern Serengeti Kopjes and Mara River

After breakfast, you will enjoy a wildlife drive enroute to Northern Serengeti where you will have a chance to visit the Kogatende area (the northern part of Serengeti) where the Mara River is situated. The Northern Serengeti is home to a huge number of resident animals including lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, eland, black rhinos, and wild dogs. This is also a wonderful time of year to witness one of three significant events that happen during the Great Migrations – the annual river crossings. Your days will be a combination of looking for good river crossings and other wildlife interactions along the Mara River, Wogakuria kopjes as well as the Lamai triangle. The Northern Serengeti and the entire Mara River area are truly awe-inspiring and will surely be one of the highlights of your safari.

26th September 2022: Bush Flight from North Serengeti to Arusha

After early breakfast at the camp, leave and enjoy your morning game viewing at the Serengeti before driving to the Airstrip for schedule flight to Arusha. On your arrival at Arusha, you will stop at cultural heritage for an optional shopping and hot lunch, before driving to Airport Planet Lodge for Day use room. Late in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your International flight back home.
